Happy New Year

Welcome Back Dress Me GC-ers!

NYE at Tedder & Woodroffe
with girlfriends and
Lifesaver and BFF Neighbour.
How is everyone? What has been happening? Who has shopped? Who hasn't shopped? And what have you been buying?

Dress Me GC was hoping to welcome you to our new home of blogging, - yes the broken down record is still playing - and I am happy to report that the IT dept has been working all holidays and we are days away from going live.  As Miss Six would say - "For Real!"  So www.dressmegc.com is very close to being real and for the record if I knew how hard it was going to be and the heartache involved (sounds dramatic, doesn't it?) I would NEVER have decided to move!

Now is the time to hit the shops... Everything is at least 20% cheaper than it was last week. Seed Femme is 40% of the reduced price! Insane!  Seed kids is a further 20% off, Witchery is further reduced, Myer is.....Everyone is!  Dress Me GC is VERY excited that The Love of My life has returned to work and I can bring the shopping bags straight in the house without leaving them in the boot of the car! Happy Days.

"Where did that cork go?"
 Beach side Picnic with
the neighbours on NYE.
Neighbours - I LOVE!  They are a tolerant bunch. Dress Me GC, The Love of My Life, our four kids, and Sammy (chief of staff at Dress Me GC Headquarters) live in a unit. To say we are high profile in our "block" is probably an understatement, but I can't imagine living anywhere else.

The Love of My life works long, long hours so I absolutely love the company of my flat mates - We all live so close together we may as well be in one house!

Whether it is poolside drinks while the kids swim, surfing with my 8,10 and 12 years old sons, picnics on the beach, way too many vodkas in the bars across the road or borrowing milk, sugar, and shoes, (and pinching champagne),  I have to say I have hit the jackpot!  Thank-you.

Happy Holidays - It's nice to be back. Dress Me GC will share some Shopping adventures in the next few blogs.  The Magic Millions is on over the next few weeks. We are going to a lunch next Wednesday at Versace. Tickets are $125 each. Dress Me GC is going. If you want to join us, you are very welcome. Don't be shy. Cut off is about now so if you want to go - HURRY!! Message me, email me, comment on the blog.... It's going to be good fun.

Thank-you for your lovely messages and thoughts over the break.  It's nice to be back in touch.

I'll leave you with a photo of my 12 year old son somersaulting off the sand dunes...

Champagne With My Sisters

With my Sisters.

Is always fun..

So much fun that I packed the 4 kids in the car, left The Love of My Life at home for some peace, and drove 3 hours north west over bitumen and dirt to my sisters farm.  Cheers! It was well worth the trip. We had a ball.

Lunch at Versace.
Went to Vie at Versace with The Love of My Life for his work Christmas Lunch. I had forgotten how nice the location was on the water. The food was fantastic, the wine was even better and the service outstanding. http://palazzoversacerestaurants.i4u.com.au/versace-restaurant/vie-bar-restaurant.php

I wore a Lisa Brown top and the CR coated Jeggings in white with silver senso sequin shoes.  My wires were crossed as I thought lunch was somewhere else so had I have known it was Vie I would have worn something else. At the end of the day it didn't matter - anything goes on the GC.

Witchery Seam Detail
Leather Tank
$69.95-
Am loving the On Line Sales.  Yesterday I saw Witchery had some items on sale.  Remember the Seam Detail Leather Tank?  See Previous Blog: "So Excited" http://dressmegc.blogspot.com.au/2012/10/so-excited.html.  It was $169-95, and yesterday was reduced to $99.  I didn't get around to buying it yesterday and so today it has been reduced even further to $69.95.  Talk about a bargain! Witchery has already emailed to say my parcel is on its way.  I am pretty happy about that - especially excited about the extras christmas treats I ordered!

Last week I mentioned that I bought the Witchery beach tie pants in navy and I may return them. Well I won't be returning them, because I haven't taken them off! I love them. Despite the fact they are long pants - they are cool and comfortable.  And the best part is I washed them on a silk cycle, hung them up ona hanger to drip dry and they don't need to be ironed!

Chief of Staff at Dress Me GC Headquarters Sammy has returned home from the Vet with bad news. He has ligament damage in his knee and he needs an operation to repair it. An $1800.00 operation.  His timing is not very considerate.  And some of you wonder why I drink wine!

Last week I mentioned Lorna Jane. Regular blog readers will remember that I am not too fond of LJ, so it has become frustrating that I need to buy a new sports bra and I am not prepared to trial a new style.  Dress Me GC went to LJ at Marina Mirage about four times and each time I could not hand over the cash.  The other day I was in Surfers Paradise and had a look at the LJ shop there only to find the bra I wanted was on sale! Happy Days. Some times things just work out don't they?

Basket Weaving is on Wednesday 13th February 2013.  The venue will be Main Beach. The cost is $60 which included materials.  It will be approx 10am - 2pm.  There is a limit of approximately 10-12 people so be quick. Your booking wont be confirmed until payment is made.

Birkenstocks have arrived - very exciting - and the next lot have been ordered.   Thanks for your messages and comments. Dress Me GC is happy to help fellow shoppers get a bargain. We will be ordering again in mid January, so let me know if you would like to be included in that order. Due to the time it takes to colate orders, emails etc... there will be a $5 handling fee with all orders from January.

Thank-you Witchery

Witchery Jumbo
Crystal Hair
Elastic $14.95

Love The Reward

Thank-you Witchery for the reward.   The love of My Life rang and asked me to get a $15 Secret Santa Present.  Because I had my 12 year old in tow we went to Marina Mirage for Sushi and a quick shop.

Witchery Tie
Beach Pant in Navy
$99.95.
Witchery  accessories had a Jumbo Crystal hair elastic for $14.95 - Perfect.  I went to pay and handed over my rewards card and Holly (Witchery Staff) said "You have $145 credit."  I calmly said "Thank-you Holly, I'll just have a look around while I'm here."

Well, I was almost sweating! Where do I start? $145 for free! Unreal! Get out of my way - I am shopping!  http://www.witchery.com.au/accessories/her/hair-accessories/jumbo-crystal-hair-elastic-2?color=CRYSTAL

So I bought a pair of navy loose fitting pants.  Tie Beach Pant to be precise for $99.95. And I still have credit left on my card, but I think I will have to look at the stores at Robina, Broadbeach or Surfers Paradise before I wear them as the range is better.  Looking on line there are some items I have on my radar.  http://www.witchery.com.au/her/pants/tie-beach-pant-1?color=NAVY

Witchery Sequin
Pants $149.99
Witchery Martha
Bucket Bag $299.99
Witchery Picks: The long Wallet in Silver for $99.99. The sequin pant for $149.99, and the Martha Bucket bag (silver again) for $299. The bucket bag in the coral colour is $199 on sale.

Lorna Jane: There is a story there... but I'll save it for tomorrow. Stay Tuned.

Sammy: Dress Me GC
Headquarters Chief of Staff
Dress Me GC Headquarters will be understaffed tomorrow as Sammy has been running around on three paws and has to go under general anesthetic to find the cause of the problem. It could be his knee and may result in surgery.

Perfect timing with the Christmas Expenses. And everyone wonders why I drink!  This is the second day in a row that my career as a full-time shopper has been under threat.

Oh and by the way this time last year I was in Japan. Yes I have been to Japan. Here I am with my sister in Kyoto, and another one of me in Hiroshima.  Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary Thomas and Chiharu.
Please email: dressmegc@gmail.com if you want to order Birkenstocks for $56 per pair. See previous blogs for more info.

Thanks for your company.

Dilemma.

Witchery Lace
exposed zip tank $129.95
in citron.

Bargains Galore!

I want everything!  Witchery has double rewards today for the last for their 12 days of Christmas. Country Road has 20% off everything if you shop online.  Seed is on sale. Everyone is sending millions of emails with offers and deals! Crazy days! I just want to buy so much, but in reality I'm not sure I need it. I just want it because it it's so cheap. Oh the Dilemma!

The Witchery Lace Exposed Zip Tank has arrived in store in Sherbet. It's a pretty pinky coral colour (can't find it online to show you a picture). The citron colour has only a few sizes left.  It sold out very quickly.  http://www.witchery.com.au/her/just-in/lace-exposed-zip-tank?color=CITRON.  Speaking of selling out quickly, I've had a few messages from people wanting to buy the Country Road silver jeggings I blogged about a few weeks ago: "Keep Calm and Shop On ttp://dressmegc.blogspot.com.au/2012/11/keep-calm-and-shop-on.html , so I rang the CR Pacific Fair Store, and was told they are sold out. Some stores have scattered sizes left, so you may get lucky.

Witchery Silk Tank
$79.95-
While you are at Witchery, have a look at the Silk Tank.  They are similiar to the Seed Femme Gotta Have it Tank.  Very nice at $79.95. http://www.witchery.com.au/silk-tank-12?color=SHERBET
It's available in a range of colours.  Don't bother looking for a range of colours at Marina Mirage, because it's the worst stocked Witchery Store in Austraila.

After the Apple
Handbag.
After The Apple Handbags are to die for!  I think the designer was from Mimco before she went out on her own, which probably expains why I don't love Mimco like I used to. Have a look at the website. It's worth it. http://www.aftertheapple.com/product/marvel-slouchy-marigold/

Today is my eldest sons last day of Primary School.  I have been very lucky this year to have had all 4 kids at the one school.  One drop off and one pick-up!  The private school fees are about to start. My career as a professional shopper is under threat! Oh the pressure!

Birkenstocks: Yes Dress Me GC will order again next week.  Let us know at Dress Me GC Headquarters if you want a pair. $56 each, plus $6.20 postage if you don't live on the GC.  dressmegc@gmail.com, or facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dressme.gc?ref=hl.  And for the record, I make no money out of the orders, and pay the same as you do for my Birks.  It's just cheaper to order in bulk.

Missing In Action...

Basket Weaving in
Fingal, NSW

Dress Me GC has been AWOL

And basically it's because I can't do it all. As much as I'd like to think I can do everything, some times it just doesn't happen. Between Making lampshades, shopping, running a household for a husband, 4 children, and a dog, socialising, emptying out a storage shed, making baskets in Fingal, keeping up with an exercise routine and being a full time taxi driver, some weeks it just doesn't happen.  Please don't think I am complaining - just letting you know why I have been missing in Action.

It's nice to be back.  There is so much to tell you.
Basket Weaving in Fingal, NSW

Basket Weaving in Fingal was fantastic.  So good that the basket lady is going to come to the GC to do a class.   We had such a nice day, chatting and weaving baskets.  Lunch was Vietnamese Salad, and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I'll let you know when the Dress Me GC Basket Weaving Class is on.

The Labrador Step into Life Training Buddies.
The Step Into Life Labrador Christmas Party was on over the week-end. How nice to see everyone out of tights, and sneakers and all dressed up.

We took over La Cloche at Runaway Bay and all ended up at The Grand afterwards. It was a great night.

Tracy & Ian.

Here's a photo of my Trainer Ian and his partner Tracy. Tracy had a fantastic black lace dress from Change Alley, Runaway Bay. Take a bow Tracy you looked stunning and have reminded me to revisit Change Alley.  I had forgotten about shopping there since the store at Australia Fair closed down.

Seed is on Sale, Witchery has the 12 days of Christmas, Mix Apparel and farfetch has free shipping, Johnny Was has 25% off everything....Just about everybody has a deal, so check before you buy.

Birkenstocks have been ordered - just. There were a few last minute orders and payments. Thanks to the early birds for paying so quickly.  It's a pretty big order.  I'll be in touch as soon as they arrive.

Discovering New Labels

Always Exciting...

Chamelon Strapless
Dress $269-
ON SALE $134.50
Rain Dance Dress $189
ON SALE $94.75
The other day on Facebook I stumbled across Marvin Clothing.  They are Sydney based.   I love their dresses, and tops and then I saw their prices - they are on sale - and I loved them even more.  Has anyone got this label in their cupboard?  I'd be interested to hear more about it.

Some of their dresses are half price which has got the heart racing!  Even their tops are half price. Where do I start? I'm busting to order online!

I noticed their stock is in Petrol at Paddington, Brisbane. Petrol is one of my favourite shops. I have bought some great things there. Unfortunately (or fortunately for The Love of My Life), I don't get there as often as I'd like too.  Petrol is on sale at the moment too, and it comes up on your credit card as "Petrol", so there is a possibility he may just think it is! Love it! http://www.petrol.net.au/. Here is the link for Marvin: http://www.marvinclothing.com/

Basket Weaving is on today at the Sheoak Shack at Fingal.  I'm packing my swimmers and hoping to get a swim at the beach while I am there. Maybe even a glass of wine with Heidi, my Fingal Bestie.  Fingal is the coolest little village and the Sheoak Shack is very groovy, so it will be nice to send the kids to school, leave the lampshades behind and do something different.  I'll take some photos.

Marvin Palm Leaf  Cami.
 On sale at $77.50
Marvin Sunrise Tank.
On Sale at $84.50
Because I'm so excited about Marvin, I'll show you some more photos of their tops.

Happy Shopping Girls.

Birkenstocks will be ordered tomorrow. Thanks for your orders so far. It is not too late to order. The cost is $56 per pair and if you live outside of the GC the postage is $7. Email me at dressmegc@gmail.com if you want to order.

Something New Every Day

That's the Best Part of Shopping.
Mimco Baroque Heel
in vibrant jade $249-

There is always something new in the shops. Mimco has some black heels that I really want, however they are $249, and there is no deal or discount. There are so many deals, discounts and offers that if you pay full price, you feel like you've been "ripped off".

Dress Me GC used to be a big Mimco fan, but got tired of buying earrings for $129 that broke the first time I wore them. I'm liking their shoes and clutches again. I saw these shoes at Marina Mirage. They are the Electric Baroque Heel and come in black and vibrant Jade. Maddie served me at Mimco, Marina Mirage.  Thanks for your help Maddie - your customer service skills are a standout. http://www.mimco.com.au/electric-baroque-heel-1

Underwear of Sweden
Swimmable Padded
Sports Bra $64.95
Underwear of Sweden
Swimmable Sports
Brief $19.95
Underwear of Sweden has some new swimmable underwear. You can wear them to the gym etc.. and go swiming withour getting changed. I like. Alot.  I train from 9am to 10am in the park in the boiling hot sun, so by the time I get out of my exercise clothes and get my swimmers on, it's just as easy to have a shower and get dressed, so to be able to train and have swimmers on is my cup of tea. http://underwearofsweden.com.au/home/index.php?route=product/category&path=68

Toscana Sequin Dress and
Sequin Top with Lisa Brown Silk Skirt.
Toscana has heaps of new pieces in.  I'm loving the sequin dress and top.

Ebay is bargain city for winter clothes. Yes it's the last thing we can think about when it's hot, but I'll say it again - Bargain City!  I just helped a Dress Me GC follower buy a brand new pair of Sambag leather pants for $250 (normally $500)  I bought myself a Sambag Grey Trench Coat (brand new with tags) for $20, plus $10 postage.

With Jay Pask
at the ASD 4  Kids
function.

The font on this blog has beaten me  :(  After fighting with my new website all day, I don't have the enery to fix it.  The good news is the IT dept is going back to square one and for fear of sounding like a broken down record, yes they are fixing it.  Mr Giesen is loving the website disaster - sales are going through the roof.

I'll leave you with a photo of Jay Pask and Dress Me GC at the ASD 4 Kids Function at Audi.  Jay is a fashion designer and is the Fashion Police for the Gold Coast Bulletin.  See previous blog: http://dressmegc.blogspot.com.au/2012/11/i-just-want-to-cry.html
